A crash between 2 vehicles on a known Isle of Wight junction has led to a response by police and paramedics this afternoon (Sunday).
Emergency services are on scene at The Mall – the main road between Newport and Carisbrooke – where a BMW 1-series and a Volkswagen Polo have been involved in a collision.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are checking over those involved, although no serious injuries are thought to have been sustained.
The crash occurred shortly before 15:00.
Recovery of the vehicles is underway with debris and fluids being cleared from the carriageway. Island Roads has been called out.
Southern Vectis buses are advising of delays and diversions to several of their services, however, the road has reopened under give-and-take.
Motorists should avoid the area for the time being.
UPDATE @ 16:34 – The incident has now been cleared and all roads have reopened as normal.
