The National Lottery are on the hunt to track down the lucky winner of £1million as a ticket purchased on the Isle of Wight is yet to be claimed.
A National Lottery ticket purchased on the Island for the 27th February Lotto Millionaire Raffle draw has scooped the jackpot, but is yet to be claimed, prompting Camelot to urge locals to double check those old tickets.
The winning Millionaire Raffle code is NAVY 3917 5002. The winner has until 25th August to claim the prize, which can be done so by calling 0844 338 7551. If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.
The latest win comes after Newport residents scooped a share of £3million in the People’s Postcode Lottery last month and a Newport couple walked away with over £300,000 on the Euromillions last October (pictured right).
A National Lottery spokesperson said:
“We’re eager to find the mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone who bought a Lotto ticket on the Isle of Wight to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.
“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
