“Aged in their 60s and 80s the two women both had underlying health conditions.
“Their families have been informed and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with them all at this difficult and distressing time.”
A total of 20 people have now recovered from coronavirus and have been discharged from hospital.
There are now a total of 73 confirmed cases of coronavirus on the Isle of Wight (as of 21st April). Nationally, the number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 stands at 129,044 with 17,337 deaths (as of 21st April).

Remember, this is with the lock down. Surely it will increase dramatically once lifted, as there is bound to be several on Wight still carrying the virus, and as it only took ONE to infect the globe, can’t see how it won’t just start the whole process back to square one.
I know we have more hospital beds, but, as half never leave again, hardly a comfort in itself.
Each day as another poor soul is taken, they remain nameless, just a tally of ever increasing numbers.
Lets hope any vaccines work first time, but a big ask I know
All I can hear lately are the chav boy racers out gallivanting in their cars, can’t we restrict their petrol, the idiots are up to no good, at least they are not throwing their McDonalds rubbish out of the windows, if we all did as we were asked this Coronavirus would be over quicker, although I like less traffic.
Where is PCO Fiona when needed one wonders?
Selfish people ordering things from Amazon that they don’t need stringing this out. Putting the delivery drivers at risk.
Lock down should be like it was in Italy. If it had we would be well past the peek and in a good place to contain the infected and open up. Instead it’s going to be at least another month, if we’re lucky.
Don’t forget irresponsible parents letting their kids all over the playground when in lockdown and apparently Sandown town council say its fine.
And when the economy has gone, who will fund the NHS? Who will pay benefits to the entitled to everything bregade?
Who will pay a wage to Amazon employees? Who will deliver your bog-rolls and food??
Where will the money come from to run the country?..
And, why don’t you shutdown yourself??..
Not 16 as last reported, thankfully
Seeing the comments on here ,pathetic just pathetic!
RIP to all that have lost there lives to this terrible illness, and condolences to all the families at this terrible time.
Come on island echo where’s my last post!? Please don’t you start to senser everything.
Funny how now they are saying “linked” but previously has been a “died of covid-19“ very fishy!
Well done mrs brown, now why can’t the sheep people see that? Oh that’s right, they only see what they are told to see! Forgot that.
