UPDATED: Police are patrolling the Oakfield area of Ryde tonight (Tuesday) after a naked man was spotted walking down the road.
Concerned members of the public reported the unusual sighting in the area of Upper Highland Road sometime around 21:45.
According to local residents, the gentleman was seen baring all and carrying a carrier bag – contents unknown.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary have been conducting sweeps of the area.
UPDATE THURSDAY – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the man spotted roaming naked around the Oakfield area on Tuesday night had been robbed of his clothing.
Police say that the 30-year-old male had his mobile phone and clothing stolen by 2 men.
A 27-year-old woman from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. She has been questioned and released by Police without charge, but remains under investigation.
