A young Isle of Wight couple have set up their first home at Barratt Homes’ St Georges Gate development in Newport, after describing it as ‘the perfect place to buy’.
Abbie Stowers, 23, and Daniel Steadman, 24, who purchased an end of terrace property from the 5-star housebuilder, are both from the Island and wanted to stay local. The couple were looking for somewhere that would offer close proximity to work, as well as plenty of open space for fresh air and exercise.
Abbie said:
“We fell in love with the house at St George’s Gate as soon as we saw it and it was perfect for what we wanted. It’s in a lovely area, very open, and I can even walk to work – so it’s ideal.
“We’ve always dreamed of owning our own home, but we couldn’t have done it without using the Help to Buy scheme. It meant we could get on the ladder and buy our dream home with only 5% deposit, which made a huge difference.
“The sales staff were also fantastic at every step, especially Toby. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and now we’re all settled in and loving being in our first home together!”
Sales director Tammy Bishop said:
“We know that buying a home is a big choice to make, and it’s not always easy to do, which is why we love hearing stories like Abbie and Daniel’s. We are delighted to have been able to support them to buy a house and start their happy life together.
“St George’s Gate offers the best of both worlds; it’s close to the town centre for all local amenities and near to all that the countryside has to offer. I can see why Abbie and Daniel are happy here.”
St Georges Gate is a community of 2 and 3-bedroom homes surrounded by rolling fields and country walks, and close to local schools, shops and local bus routes.
