A sailing vessel with engine problems just off the North coast of the Isle of Wight was rescued by Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat yesterday evening (Thursday).
It was just before 18:00 that HM Coastguard received reports from the lone skipper of the yacht ‘Panache’ that he needed assistance.
The vessel, which had left Gosport in the afternoon, was located in Osborne Bay near East Cowes.
Yarmouth RNLI’s Severn-class lifeboat was tasked to the incident, soon establishing a tow and safely assisting the casualty vessel to Shepard’s Wharf in Cowes.
Needles Coastguard Rescue Team was tasked to assist on the shore.
The incident was concluded by 19:00.
