A yacht in difficulty on Ryde Sands has been successfully aided by Ryde Inshore Rescue this afternoon (Saturday).
The independent lifeboat station was tasked to launch by Solent Coastguard at just before 15:00 after the vessel ‘Strider’ called for assistance.
Ryde Rescue 1 lifeboat was quickly launched on service and on scene within minutes. A tow was then established and the casualty vessel taken into Ryde Harbour.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team then rendezvoused with the yacht and lifeboat crew at the harbour.
