Ryde Inshore Rescue came to the aid of a vessel aground on Ryde Sands earlier this afternoon (Saturday).
The independent lifeboat service was tasked by Solent Coastguard to reports of a yacht in difficulty to the north of the Isle of Wight at shortly before 16:00.
Ryde Rescue 1 was quickly launched and just minutes later was on scene with the casualty vessel. A tow was established and the yacht taken further out to sea.
The lifeboat and her volunteer crew returned to station within 45 minutes.
