Hundreds of properties are without water supply in Wootton this morning (Wednesday) as separate burst water mains have hit either side of the village.
Households woke to find the taps running dry following the double burst in the early hours of the morning.
Southern Water is aware of the situation and has sent engineers to both sites, on Eleanor’s Grove near Fishbourne and at Lushington Hill.
It is currently unknown how long it will take to get water supply restored to the hundreds of homes and businesses affected by this mornings double burst.
Wootton Primary School has told parents it is unable to open this morning, but will reassess the situation between now and 10:00.
Temporary traffic lights have been set up on the main Newport to Ryde road at both Lushington Hill and Eleanor’s Grove, with travel disruption expected throughout the day.
Motorists are advised to allow extra times for their journey.
