A woman has been arrested after man was seriously assaulted at an address in Freshwater this lunchtime (Wednesday).
It was at just after 13:00 that Police received a report of a man being assaulted by a woman at an address in the West Wight.
Officers were deployed from Newport, making best speed heading west.
At a property on Collards Close, off Sunset Close, in Freshwater, officers arrested a 36-year-old woman from Newport on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
She remains in custody at this time.

Don’t we have any police stationed in Yarmouth any more? Shouldn’t have to wait for someone to traipse all the way from Newport.
