A 24-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murdering Tommy Barton in May of this year has been released without charge.
It was during the early hours of Sunday 28th May that Police responded to an incident on Park Road in Ryde in which 30-year-old Tommy, from Brading, was seriously assaulted. He died whilst en route to hospital. Tommy had been stabbed multiple times.
3 people were initially arrested on suspicion of his murder, with charges later laid against 27-year-old Cameron Baker of Leed Street in Sandown and 27-year-old Rio Scott of Park Road in Ryde. The 3rd suspect, a 24-year-old woman from Shanklin, was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has now confirmed that the woman faces no further action in relation to Tommy’s murder and has been released without charge.
Cameron Baker and Rio Scott are both being held on remand ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Winchester Crown Court on 15th September.
A provisional trial date has been set for November this year, should not guilty pleas be entered.
