A 60-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were arrested when an altercation broke out during a game of bingo at Thorness Bay Holiday Park last night (Saturday).
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called at just before 21:00 last night to an incident developing at the popular holiday park to the west of Cowes.
At least 6 Police vehicles, as well as an ambulance and an operational commander from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, all rushed to the scene, descending on the main club house.
Island Echo is told that the incident begun whilst holidaymakers had their eyes down for the linked bingo.
It has been confirmed that a 60-year-old woman from Dudley, in the West Midlands, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She has since been released with no further action to be taken.
A 17-year-old male from Medway in Kent was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He remains in custody at this time.
A witnesses has told Island Echo:
“A rather vile and undesirable family causing trouble and getting into a fight. Feel sorry for all the families trying to enjoy their holiday there”.

Been to this site many times, they need their own
security due to the number of persons staying on this
site, especially this time of the year.
Once people have a few shandy’s inside them, they go

What was a 17 yo from Medway doing at bingo? Probably hasn’t any clue what numbers are.

Full marks to the Thorness Bay team — imagine trying to keep the evening family bingo going while it’s suddenly interrupted by the ‘Jeremy Kyle Live Experience’ kicking off in the corner. Six police cars and an ambulance, all because Nan (Mum???) and the lad couldn’t behave in public.
Honestly, you’d think shouting ‘BINGO’ was a call to riot. Hats off to the holiday park staff who had to mop up the drama while the rest of the guests were just trying to win a bottle of Echo Falls and a box of Maltesers!
Let’s be honest — they’d probably only been there a day, bags barely unpacked, and already they’re turning the entertainment lounge into a scene from Police Interceptors.
People like that don’t take holidays, they take their attitude on tour. Frankly, I’m shocked there wasn’t a separate news article about them heading to McDonald’s for a slap-up well-done meal and kicking off when the McFlurry machine was down.
