UPDATED: Wightlink has suspended its Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service this morning (Wednesday) due to technical issues.
Island Echo has been told it appears there is an issue with the linkspan at Fishbourne, with the 06:00 sailing yet to depart as vehicles are unable to disembark.
The delay and now suspension of service is expected to have a knock on effect for the rest of the day.
UPDATE @ 06:55 – Wightlink now say their service is back in operation but is delayed by some 45 minutes.
The issue has been confirmed as ‘electrical’.
Those travelling with the cross-Solent operator today should arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to their booked sailing.
UPDATE @ 10:50 – Wightlink have now reduced the delay on the Fishbourne-Portsmouth service to 25 minutes.
