Lady Sally Grylls and Bob Seely MP are just 2 names giving their support to the local initiative ‘Wight Mask Ask’, which is supplying PPE to the Island’s care sector.
Wight Mask Ask was launched by the charity Embracing Age after realising shortages of appropriate equipment was putting the most vulnerable Islanders at risk. The campaign is coordinated by the charity’s Isle of Wight initiative, Care Home Friends.
Over 6,600 masks, 6,000 gloves, 1,500 Aprons and 1,800 shoe protectors have been distributed across the Island to over 30 care homes, as well as 10 domiciliary care providers, 13 home care providers and 8 organisations using volunteers in the community.
Bob Seely was recently invited to Lady Grylls’ garden for a photo shoot. He said:
“I congratulate Wight Mask for doing a great job. Supplying the care sector is really important.
“As we ease lockdown we have to make sure that all at risk and vulnerable islanders are protected. The Isle of Wight Council has done a great job, but the fact that Wight Mask Ask are doing it as well is brilliant. We need a really good supply.”
Lady Grylls has thanked WightAID for their £10,000 donation, enabling Wight Mask Ask to support the care sector with PPE needs.
Social distancing was adhered to during the garden meet, which involved 5 individuals and photographer Graham Reading.

If Bob had worn a mask when he went to the BBQ he might have gone unnoticed.
As usual for Bob, too little, too late. Nice to know social distancing was in place, now, was there a BBQ just out of the cameras field of view.
Where’s his half sausage?
In his pocket?
Well done to the people of the charity, but seeing as there is a petition requesting Bob to resign, i would have thought that is one of the last people you would want to be seen supporting you.
is there a petition, where is the link? I’ll sign it for sure
Why should he resign just because you don’t like him
Because he doesn’t represent REAL islanders. That’s why, bandwagon jumping, breaks lockdown rules, as did certain Ventnor Town Councillors.
Thousands of people on the island broke lock down rules .should they all resign too ?
