This is your guide to when and where you can view the Isle of Wight stage of the Tour of Britain between Tapnell and Shalfleet in the West Wight on Sunday 11th September.
The tour of Britain will pass through Shalcombe at approximately 12:26 before taking the Middle Road towards Freshwater. The cyclists will then turn right into Afton Road and into School Green Road, where they will pass through the centre of Freshwater at 12:35. The cyclists continue along Tennyson Road and the Avenue until they turn into the A3054 (Colwell Road) towards Yarmouth.
The tour passes through Halletts Shute before crossing the swing bridge. reaching Yarmouth town centre at around 12:43. The cyclists will then continue along the main road towards Newport, where the 2nd Sprint Section will take place at Bouldnor at approximately 12:44.
The tour will continue along the A3054, passing through Shalfleet before turning left into Corf Road (towards Porchfield at 12:52.
Where are the best vantage points in West Wight to see the Tour of Britain between Shalcombe and Shalfleet?
Those wishing to get as close as possible to all the action can do so as the tour makes its way through Freshwater High Street. Colwell Green is the perfect place to view the tour with plenty of parking available.
Further racing at close quarters is to be seen at Yarmouth town centre where the competitors can be seen powering their way across the bridge. Those wanting to experience the excitement of a sprint section may do so at Bouldnor.
Timings may vary depending on race pace. Spectators should allow plenty of time to travel and park.
