The team showed off their new kit at an Order of Merit event at the Ryde club recently. 2019’s Junior Captain, Joel Tarry, said that the team all felt and looked really smart and especially thanked Matt and Sharron Lake from Buywise for their help in making it possible.
Joel went on to say:
“There are some really great players here at the Academy and this kit means that we all feel that we’re part of a really special team. We all love the game, and this a fantastic side that’s determined to show off our skills in the best possible way”.
Westridge Golf Centre proprietor, Mark Wright, commented:
“I’m really proud of everything the squad have achieved over the past few years, and the new kit looks absolutely brilliant!
“Westridge has always had a strong record of introducing young players into golf, and I’m delighted to see so many of the current team playing well, getting their handicaps down, but most importantly really enjoying playing this great game. Who knows, maybe one day some of these youngsters will be playing one the European or PGA Tours – you never know!”
Matt and Sharron Lake from Buywise in Newport were thrilled to be able to help. They said:
“As soon as we heard there was a chance to support these young people, we jumped at the opportunity to get involved.
“It’s so important to encourage young people playing any sport, but golf is such a great game to play, teaching not only the various skills needed, but also other important areas such as integrity, truth, honesty, respect and dignity which are all massively important elements of life as well. We’re thrilled at how the team look and really delighted to be involved.”
