More than 60 golfers took part in Westridge Golf Centre’s annual Susan Mew Charity Event, raising almost £900 for Mountbatten Hospice.
A total of 63 players took part in the popular competition at Westridge Golf Centre on Sunday 17th May, with players battling it out in a closely contested event in aid of Mountbatten Hospice.
The winning team of Phil Spreckley, Martin Whitehead, Martyn Wakefield and Chris Wilkinson secured victory with 90 points.
Just 1 point behind in second place were Glen Winnard, Jan Little, Rod Little and Lorraine Swallow on 89 points, while Peter Holton, Walter Mallinson, Phil Brennan and Bowy White finished third with 88 points.
Tyler Roberts also celebrated success after winning the Closest to the Pin competition with a shot landing just 860mm from the hole.
In total, £892.50 was raised for Mountbatten Hospice through the event.
Organisers have thanked sponsors Cherry Godfrey and Leslies Motors for supporting the charity day and helping make the event a success.
They also expressed hopes that next year’s event will be “bigger and better”.
