A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office this morning (Friday) warning of heavy rain and squally winds.
Over the next few hours gusts of 50-60 mph are possible in places warn forecasters, which could lead to cross-Solent travel disruption.
Islanders are being advised to take extra care due to the localised winds and anticipated heavy rain.
The warning is in force until 15:00 this afternoon.
