A yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thunder has been issued for the Isle of Wight by the Met Office this morning (Tuesday).
Forecasters are warning of the increasing risk of heavy rain, with thunder possible, developing over southern England later this afternoon before spreading northwards during the evening and overnight.
Although many places will miss the worst of the rain, 20-30mm rain in an hour is possible and very locally 40-60mm in 6 to 12 hours. Should this occur then some flooding to homes and businesses possible, especially across urban areas.
The weather warning is in force from 16:00 today until 09:00 tomorrow morning.
