Islanders are being warned of an unsettled start to the new week with an unseasonably windy spell late Monday and well into Tuesday, accompanied by heavy rain.
The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for wind as they predict gusts of between up to 65mph on the coast. Forecasters say heavy rain will accompany the strong winds at times and large waves may affect some coasts in the west and south.
Given the unseasonable nature of the winds, Islanders should be aware of the potential for disruption to transport and outdoor activities. Damage to some trees seems likely, given that they are in full leaf.
The warning has been put in place between 16:00 on Monday and 18:00 Tuesday.
