It has been a busy few weeks for the Isle of Wight county sides, with both Disability sides, the Over-50s, U18s, U14s and U12s all in action. Isle of Wight U18s managed a brilliant win over Wiltshire in the County Plate. Archie took incredible figures of 5-24 as Wiltshire were dismissed for 150 – a score the Isle of Wight passed for the loss of 3 wickets. Josh hit 66 not out from 56 balls, with Sam adding 36. Josh then also made 33* in the next round, but Dorset were comfortable 9-wicket winners. The Super 9s defeated Hampshire by 29 runs. Lewis Winter top-scored with 40, before Oscar Le Neve Foster took 2-18. The D40 team put in an excellent performance away to Somerset, dismissing the hosts for just 61, before chasing the target down for the loss of 2 wickets after 10.2 overs.
The Isle of Wight Over-50s have played 2 fixtures and been narrowly defeated on both occasions. Cornwall were victorious by 8 runs despite Souvik Sanyal’s 30, before Wiltshire won by an even narrower margin of 7 runs after Mark Fletcher made a brilliant 86. U14s and U12s were both in action against Hampshire RPC. The U12s were beaten by 62 runs, though there were great figures for Finlay, taking 3-36, and useful knocks from Oscar (21), Logan (17*) and Monty (15*). The U14s were edged out by just 2 wickets – Ian (64) and Tom (42) started the innings brilliantly, with Ian also taking 3-18 with the ball.
