2nd-placed Ventnor beat Sarisbury Athletic by 4 wickets in Southern Premier Division 1 at Steephill on Saturday (11th June).
Ventnor won the toss and put Sarisbury in to bat.
Opener Jack Lovett was the 1st Sarisbury wicket to fall – caught by Ross Whyte for a single off the bowling of Will Mew. Cameron Grierson went next – caught by wicket keeper Woodhouse off a Whyte delivery for 18.
Sam Floyd (19) and Ricky Rawlings (8) were the following 2 Sarisbury wickets to be dismissed, caught off the bowling of Hugh and Charlie Calloway respectively. Namish Verma had Sarisbury captain and top scorer Josh Hill caught by Charlie Calloway for 58 runs, before trapping Robson lbw for 28.
Hugh Calloway picked up his 2nd wicket by having DeGrussa caught by Charlie Calloway for 14. Jacob Harris was then run out by James Cheek for 18.
Sam Hill went for a duck, caught by wicket keeper Woodhouse off the bowling of Whyte. Jordan Wright was the final Sarisbury wicket to fall, having made a quickfire 40 runs before being caught by Whyte off the bowling of Mew.

Namish Verma and Dineth Thimodya put on a Ventnor opening partnership of 71 before Verma was dismissed off the bowling of Harris for 18. Thimodya then hit his half century before also falling to Harris for 52.
Ben Attrill was the 3rd wicket to go, trapped lbw by Jordan Wright for 13. Martin Blackman and Hugh Calloway put on a partnership of 76 before Hugh was caught off the bowling of Kitcher for 44. Blackman then hit a knock of 60 before he too was caught off the bowling of Kitcher.
Sam Mills was the final Ventnor wicket to fall – run out for 7 runs. Ross Whyte (21) and captain Ben Woodhouse (6) then steered the home side to a 4-wicket victory in the 49th over
