UPDATED: Two vehicles have been involved in a road traffic collision in East Cowes this afternoon, partially blocking a junction.
A Silver BMW convertible and a Green Ford Focus collided at the junction of Beatrice Avenue and Victoria Grove at around 14:00 this afternoon.
Fire crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the incident after reports of smoke coming from the engine bay of one of the vehicles involved.
No persons have been seriously injured in the crash, which has left debris on the carriageway.
Police are currently on the scene alongside recovery teams and are advising motorists to be careful in these slippery conditions.
UPDATE @ 14:57 – According to Police, the scene has now been cleared.
