Members of the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club displayed their interesting and unusual collection of vintage and classic cars in St Thomas’ Square, Newport on Saturday (11th December) – all in aid of Mountbatten Hospice.
Each year the cars and their owners descend on the square for a Christmas-themed display, with many owners donning fancy dress.
This year, the display of cars included, among others, a 1968 Corvette Chevrolet, an unusual Nissan S-Cargo and a Bond Bug. A total of 21 classics and 30 members turned out for the largest gathering in some years.
All proceeds collected on the day are to be donated to Mountbatten Hospice, which supports Island patients and their families in end-of-life care and many other health issues.

This is the only tinsel on display! Newport Council must hang their heads in shame one would hope. I hope these classics did the charity well. Well done all.
