A 31-year-old Cowes man has been arrested and questioned on suspicion of drug driving after he ploughed his van into several parked vehicles yesterday morning (Thursday).
It was just before 09:40 that a white Volkswagen Transporter collided with a Volkswagen Caddy and several other parked vehicles on Milton Road, Cowes.
The driver parked his vehicle and remained at the scene ahead of the arrival of Police, who quickly established the circumstances of the incident.
As a result, the 31-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken into custody.
He has since been released under investigation while further enquiries continue.

Should go to jail..but get a stupid little fine and points ..look what he has done to peoples property..utter wanker..
Until “ALL” drink and drug drivers are banged up,
our roads will never be safe.
What if these were people this numpty smashed into
rather than other vehicles.
These inconsiderate B’stards make me sick.
Why, has he been found guilty then? Or did you yet again get triggered and not read it properly?
Who else did it then?? Santa Claus or batman…said he got arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
Yes, arrested on suspicion and then let go. Had they thought he was guilty (after testing, obvs) he would have BEEN CHARGED and let go.
He’s obviously failed the roadside drug wipe hasn’t he. Most people condone this kind if behaviour as it’s not acceptable in society. Imagine your wife or boyfriend happened to be crossing the road at the time, the headline would completely different.
You don’t think that establishing guilt first might be a good move. Once again we have trial by Island Echo keyboard warriors.
