UPDATED: A car and pick-up have collided on Betty Haunt Lane on the outskirts of Newport this evening (Tuesday).
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police are in attendance at the scene off Forest Road. The collision – between an Audi A4 and a Nissan Navara – has occurred at the bridge.
The road between Forest Road and Middle Road is understood to be blocked. Motorists should find an alternative route.
Recovery of the vehicles has been arranged.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – One person has been treated at the scene by paramedics, but has not required conveyance to hospital.
Both cars are said to have been heavily damaged in the crash.
The scene has now been cleared.
