Firefighters from Ryde have attended a tumble drier fire at a property in the town this afternoon (Friday).
1 appliance was mobilised to reports of a fire at a semi-detected house on Alfred Street at just before 12:25, however the fire was out on arrival.
A second appliance from Newport and an officer were also mobilised, but were stood down en-route.
The single crew removed the indesit branded appliance from the property. The manufacturer has come under fire lately with washing machines produced during periods of 2007 to 2009 under recall.
A rapid response paramedic checked over the male occupant of the house.
