Tributes have been paid to former Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service firefighter Eddy Woodford, who sadly died at home on 20th November.
Eddy was the Station Commander for Freshwater Fire Station and gave 31 years of dedicated service to the Isle of Wight community before retiring in 1999.
Eddy’s wife Pauline has said:
“Eddy loved his time in the fire service, it was his life, his father and brother also served in the fire service, he worked hard for the community and in raising money for the benevolent fund and in recent years he loved visiting the fire station and seeing the fire engine out on Christmas Day.”
The retained crew at Freshwater have given their sincere thoughts and prayers for Eddy’s wife and family at this sad time.
