The staffing issues seen on cross-Solent services recently seem to have jumped across to Island Line, with trains suspended for the rest of the day due to a lack of signallers. South Western Railway has confirmed that due to signalling staff being unavailable, all trains between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin are set to be cancelled from 19:00 this evening (Bank Holiday Monday) until tomorrow morning. Rail replacement transport has been requested and more information will be provided when known. For further information or onward travel advice, speak to a member of staff or use a station help point. A spokesperson for Island Line says:
”We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey”.
UPDATE TUESDAY – Due to signalling staff also being unavailable this morning, services remain suspended. Disruption is expected to continue until 08:00 this morning.
