UPDATED: A collision involving two cars and a motorcycle has resulted in the closure of the main Shanklin to Ventnor road this evening (Wednesday).
A red Honda Civic and a red Mini have sustained serious damage after colliding on Cowleaze Hill/Bonchurch Road near the Devil’s Chimney at around 19:00. A blue Honda motorcycle has also been involved.
3 people are being treated for minor injuries by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The road remains closed from the junction of Bonchurch Shute to Church Road, Shanklin whilst recovery of the vehicles takes place. Island Roads have been requested to clear debris from the carriageway.
Southern Vectis Route 3 buses are currently diverting via Wroxall.
UPDATE @ 21:00 – Cowleaze Hill has now reopened in both directions.
2 people have been taken to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance, with a third making their own way.
