As reported earlier this week, three persons were arrested in the Heathfield Road and High Street area of Freshwater as part of a serious Police operation. The two men, aged 29 and 25 and one women, aged 21, have all been released on bail until 4th November pending further enquiries. A second woman, aged 26, was also arrested however has been released without charge.
Island Echo can exclusively reveal that at least one person was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap and on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent. It has been confirmed the vehicle in question was discovered to be ablaze near Fort Victoria in the early hours of Monday morning, as reported by Island Echo.
There is no information to suggest a wider risk to the community.
UPDATE @ 13:40 – It has been revealed this afternoon that 26-year-old Kieran Luke Mace of Sandown has been charged with conspiracy to kidnap and will appear in front of a Crown Court on 11th October after appearing at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday).
The charge follows an investigation by the Hampshire Major Investigation Team (HMIT) and Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) and is related to the arrests in Freshwater (pictured) – Operation Part.
