UPDATED: Police are this morning (Thursday) at the scene of a break in at the Tesco Express store in Lake, which has been cordoned off by officers.
The convenience store is closed and is likely to remain closed for the next couple of hours as Police investigate an apparent break in at the Lake Hill shop.
Island Echo understands a manager arrived at the store early this morning to open for business, only to discover damage to the front doors and signs of a burglary. Police were already on scene.
Forensic officers have been called to the scene to gather evidence.
It is currently unknown what, if anything, has been stolen during the break in.
UPDATE @ 18:10 – Hampshire Constabulary have this afternoon confirmed that they received a call at 02:43 reporting a burglary at the Tesco Express store.
An investigation has been launched and is continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible.
