Bestival’s 10-year anniversary has kicked off in style today (Thursday) as up to 55,000 people begin to pack out the UK’s best major festival at Downend near Newport.
The campsites have been filling up with thousands of tents for as far as the eye can see since the site opened earlier this morning, with even more revellers expected to arrive tomorrow (Friday).
As the sun set across Robin Hill Adventure Park, the party well and truly got underway with the night drawing in and the fabulous Bestival site lighting up to reveal a whole new atmosphere.
Local band Born in a Barn are playing twice at this year’s event and have taken to the Polka Tent for their first performance this evening, entertaining the intimate crowd that gathered.
Join Island Echo tomorrow for continuing coverage of Bestival 2013.
