2 teenage boys – aged just 13 and 15 – have been arrested after allegedly stealing a car and crashing it into the front garden of a property in Freshwater this morning (Monday).
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called at 05:59 to a report of a single-vehicle collision. A car had left the carriageway and come to rest on its side in the garden of a house on Princes Road.
It has now been confirmed that 2 boys have been arrested as part of ongoing investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision.
A 15-year-old boy from Cowes and a 13-year-old boy from Shanklin have both been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking.
The 13-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and theft from a person.
The pair remain in custody at Newport Police Station at this time.

Unfortunately Keith, if this 13 year old is committing ABH and theft then I doubt school attendance is one of his priorities.
