A 15-year-old boy from Ryde was arrested in Sandown late yesterday afternoon (Monday) after crashing a stolen car into another vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Police were called to the junction of The Fairway and Station Approach at just before 17:30 following reports of a 2-vehicle collision involving a people carrier and a Proton Gen 2.
The driver of the Proton – which had a space saver wheel on the back – had reportedly fled the scene, sparking a local area search.
Officers soon caught up with a teenager who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle involved in a road accident and failing to report that accident, and taking a motor vehicle without the owners’ consent.
He was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B and possession of a controlled drug of Class B.
He has been released on police bail until 30th December.
No injuries were sustained.
Starting his life long career off early.. his parents must be so disappointed and angry…that he got caught!!! Bloody vermin.. we can only pray that the next car he nicks he ploughs into a tree. One less scum
What on earth is happening on this Island ?
This would have never have happened a few years ago.
He’ll get some meaningless sentence and his parents will laugh about it to their friends down the pub.
Blame the welfare state and pathetic penalties for being a rubbish citizen.
Wonder why it says 0 Comments when there are Comments.
Phew, thank god he didn’t post any nasty words on FB or he would already be in prison for a couple of years! He could have barked at a police dog for another 6 months… This is where the two tier policing and justice systems shows its true colours.. He will undoubtedly get some community service, delayed until after Christmas obviously, and never mind the damage his actions will, and have, caused.
