UPDATED: Those travelling across the Solent to and from the Island face disruption on 2 separate routes this morning (Monday).
Red Funnel have cancelled a number of vehicle ferry sailings between East Cowes and Southampton due to technical issues. The 07:15 and 10:30 sailings from East Cowes and the 09:00 from Southampton have all been cancelled. The cross-Solent operator is advising of 1 hour delays.
Meanwhile Wightlink’s Ryde Pier Head to Portsmouth Harbour catamaran service has also been hit by cancellations this morning. The 06:40 sailing from Portsmouth was cancelled earlier on, alongside the 07:10 from Ryde. In addition the 07:40 from Portsmouth and the 08:10 from Ryde have been pulled.
There are no reported issues on Wightlink’s car ferry service, Red Funnel’s Red Jet service or Hovertravel services between Ryde and Southsea.
UPDATE @ 11:08 – Disruption on cross-Solent services continues this morning, with Wightlink’s Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service now also effected.
Red Funnel have declared a 2 hour delay on the 11:00 Southampton to East Cowes sailing, with the 12:00 sailing cancelled. There is a 1 hour delay on the 11:30 East Cowes to Southampton sailing.
Due to a mechanical problem, Wightlink are operating a charter vessel on the Ryde Pier Head-Portsmouth Harbour catamaran service. The 19:10 sailing from Ryde Pier Head this evening has been cancelled. The charter vessel – with a slower crossing time of 30 minutes – will operate from Portsmouth Harbour at 11:15, 12:47, 16:40, 17:40; 18:40 and from Ryde Pier Head at 17:10 and 18:10.
The disruption doesn’t stop there… Wightlink have announced a revised timetable for their Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service due to staff shortages.

UPDATE @ 15:15 – Red Funnel have announced even more cancellations and are advising passengers booked on the 16:30 sailing that their new sailing time is 21:00 – marking a total of 4.5 hour delays.
UPDATE @ 16:13 – It has now been confirmed that the 17:00 sailing is delayed by some 5-and-a-half hours due to the ongoing technical problem.
