TEAMS FROM ACROSS THE REGION COMPETE FOR THE VASE AT SHANKLIN & SANDOWN

Winning team - Blackmoor

Teams from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight travelled to Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club recently to participate in the 25th Vase competition.

The Shanklin & Sandown Vase is an annual stableford competition, traditionally held during the first week in August. It is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious invitational events in the region.

This year the day-long event attracted teams from Alresford, Alton, Army, Basingstoke, Blackmoor, Bognor Regis, Corhampton, Hayling, Hockley, Lee on the Solent, Littlehampton, Meon Valley, Petersfield, Romsey, Rowlands Castle, Royal Winchester, Ryde, Salisbury & South Wilts, Shanklin & Sandown, South Winchester, Ventnor and Waterlooville.

Captains of each club invited plays with 3 other members of the same club, with the best 3 overall scores to count.

The winning away team hailed from Blackmoor and comprised of their Captain Alex Greenaway, Tony Grevatt, Neil Marie and Mark Probyn. The winning home team were Stef Brochocki, Dee Maidment, Roy Truman and Mike Death.

The winners and runners-up were presented with custom handmade vases supplied by Alum Bay Glass from the Needles Landmark Attraction.
