The Cinnamon Trust is appealing for more volunteers in East Cowes to help support a local resident and their much-loved dog by offering regular dog walking assistance.
The national charity provides free pet care support to people over retirement age and those in the final stages of a terminal illness, helping them keep their animal companions by their side for as long as possible.
In East Cowes, a resident is currently in need of support walking their dog. The Cinnamon Trust says the dog is delightful and would benefit from getting out for a good walk with a friendly volunteer.
Many elderly or seriously ill pet owners worry about how they will continue to care for their animals, and without support, some begin looking to rehome what is often their only companion. Volunteers from the Cinnamon Trust help prevent this by stepping in to assist with tasks like dog walking, cleaning bird cages, emptying litter trays, and even fostering pets when owners go into hospital or hospice care.
