UPDATED: Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a suspicious fire at a derelict holiday camp in Ryde this afternoon (Sunday).
Crews from Ryde Fire Station were called to the former Harcourt Sands holiday camp at Puckpool at 14:30 following reports of smoke issuing from a disused chalet.
Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel are being used to tackle the fire, which has been contained.
No one has been injured in the incident, however Police have been called to the scene.
One eye witness has told Island Echo that he believes youths are to blame for starting the fire.
UPDATE @ 15:45 – The fire has been extinguished and crews have left the scene.
