1608b82f-89e4-4813-bb2b-f22046c62b9955-year-old Dean Dalley from Bembridge has been handed a suspended prison sentence after being convicted of a shocking attack in which he stabbed a woman multiple times, keeping her inside his flat for days on end.

Dalley, formerly of Crossway, was sentenced at the Isle of Wight Crown Court earlier this week after pleading guilty to stabbing his girlfriend in the head and leg and seriously assaulting her less than 3 weeks prior.

As first reported by Island Echo, Police descended on a block of flats at Crossway in the sleepy village of Bembridge late last August. Officers remained at the scene for sometime and forensic investigators were called in as the extent of the situation became clear to detectives.

Police initially said that Dalley had been arrested and charged in relation to an assault by beating allegation dating back to 1st August 2022, now known to be the 1st assault on his partner. However, it was later revealed by Hampshire Constabulary that Dalley had also been charged with Section 18 Wounding with Intent.

The more serious charge relates to an incident in which Dalley stabbed his partner no less than 4 times in the head and leg, whilst keeping her inside his 1st floor flat. The offences took place between 18th-25th August 2022.

With more than 20 convictions to his name and due to the seriousness of the offences, Dalley was remanded in custody and put before Southampton Magistrates Court the next day, where he was further remanded. He has spent the past 6 months behind bars as a result.

Sentencing Dalley at the Isle of Wight Crown Court this week, Recorder Mr Richard Onslow handed the 55-year-old a 2-year prison sentence, suspended for 2 years. He has now been released from custody but must complete 25 rehabilitation days and is subject to a restraining order.

You’ve got it all wrong, he “must complete 25 rehabilitation days and is subject to a restraining order”.
That makes everything OK, and he will then be a perfect citizen.
Recorder Mr Richard Onslow knows best (or thinks he does). Of course, Recorder Mr Richard Onslow doesn’t live on the Island or anywhere near Dalley.

When said stabbing one thinks of a knife or similar sharp implement entering a body to point of blood then escaping ! ,anyone intentionally doing this should be in prison so as not to harm others, when this scum kills next time then the Courts should be held liable too. Courts are meant to protect victims and prevent further, but seems they recently always let the criminal off whilst victims and witnesses are left vunerable.

WTF????? he is a psychopathic sadist and he is to be rehabilitated in 25 days!!! not only keeps her prisoner for days on end but stabs her four times in the head and leg and is now convinced he was not that bad because he can go out and mix with normal people. If this was not so disgusting and pathetic a punishment I would say it was a joke but the woman will NEVER be the same again believe me, and he will kill at some point now. This should be challenged legally/

This Dalley bloke has got some serious issues going on. Stabbing his girlfriend in the head and leg, what a sicko. Hate to think what he would do if he didn’t like you if he can do this to his girlfriend.
Girlfriend, get out of your ‘toxic abusive’ relationship with this sorry excuse for a human being. You could end up on a mortuary table next time!

And in % wise how many Women do you see go to court for this type of horrendous assault? And when you do % wise says the women will usually get at least 3 times the sentence of a male on same charge! All for equality but do some research before you make yourself look a total pleb! Anybody held hostage, stabbed and left traumatised whatever their gender should exoect and get better protection than this laughable sentence from a, person who will do it again! And again! Judicial system and our judges need a whole new, reality check on what we expect from them! It’s much better than the “justice”? This victim has laughably been given.

This is not even comfortable to read, how is this cretin not in jail being shown what a real man is. The sad truth is if you live a life of crime and have “issues” you will never be jailed. But god if someone burgled an upstanding persons house and they defended themself and hurt the burglars they would have the book thrown at them. This country is a disgrace.

Looks like all the Magistrate Service are suffering from severe mental illness. Dalley obviously needs to kill someone before he is locked up behind bars. At least we all know what he looks like so be aware. Hope his then girlfriend is no more and somewhere safe, if she is still his girlfriend………….

Just read an article in the sussex press about a 77 year old who made hundreds of false calls to the emergency services over a period of months. Ignoring that he wasted everyones valuable time he got 39 months in prison and a 10 year criminal behaviour order. so how is this nutter on the island not being locked up.
