The crew of a Sunseeker motor cruiser are said to be safe and well after the luxury vessel sunk at Fishbourne during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
Cowes RNLI were tasked to launch by Solent Coastguard at just before 03:00 to reports of a vessel taking on water whilst moored at Fishbourne – the mouth of Wootton Creek.
Despite launching and making speed to the scene, by the time the lifeboat had arrived the vessel had unfortunately already sunk.
With the crew safe on a pontoon and with officers from Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team, the lifeboat stood down once clearing floating debris.
It is unclear what caused the vessel to sink.
