A London man, accused of assaulting his elderly mum at her Isle of Wight home towards the end of last year, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this week.
Joshua Wright, 38, of Tower Hamlets, pleaded guilty to common assault on his 75-year-old mother, as well as criminal damage under £5000, when he appeared before Magistrates on Tuesday (10th March).
The court heard that at the time of the crime, Wright was involved in an argument with his mother.
Nick Muir, defence for Wright, said that she was withholding his car keys from him when he had a meeting with probation.
This angered the defendant, leading to the assault and damage.
Wright was ordered to serve a 14-month community order in parallel with his existing order, and to serve 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Is that the best that the magistrates can pass on him. He is cowardly scum.
