Lifeboats, Coastguard Rescue Teams and the Coastguard helicopter have been searching the coast and the Solent area overnight, but have failed to locate the man or his kayak. Yarmouth lifeboat was launched at just gone 04:30 this morning.

WightSAR have been deployed to assist Hampshire Constabulary this morning by conducting a coastal search.
UPDATE @ 10:12 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed they are working with HM Coastguard to locate 54-year-old Stephen Taylor of Gosport.
Stephen left Lee-on-Solent at around 11:30 yesterday morning in his blue coloured kayak with the intention of paddling to Lepe beach in the Southampton area. Mr Taylor, who is an experienced canoeist, was in touch with his partner throughout the day but when he had failed to return home late in the evening she alerted police.
He is believed to be wearing a wetsuit, light blue coloured long sleeved top, navy blue life jacket with a red detail and a beige sun hat.
It is believed there may have been a sighting of Mr Taylor at approximately 22:50 last night by a passing vessel.
HM Coastguard is leading the search operation. An area has been cordoned off in Salterns Lane, Hill Head to assist the search.
Freshwater Lifeboat have been tasked to assist in the search and are currently searching the coastline surrounding The Needles.
UPDATE @ 12:05 – It has been confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Stephen Taylor. His family have been informed of the discovery.
Island Echo understands the body was discovered near to Newtown by Lymington RNLI and was transferred to a Police vessel.
Bembridge RNLI have assisted in this morning’s search.
