UPDATED: Firefighters from Newport and Shanklin are attending the Welcome convenience store in Lake this morning (Tuesday) following reports of a small amount of smoke inside the shop.
Two appliances are currently at the scene on Green Lane, where smoke was seen to be issuing from a fridge freezer unit shortly before 08:20.
The power to the refrigeration unit has now been isolated by fire crews.
Investigations continue, however the situation is under control.
UPDATE @ 09:34 – Fire crews have now left the scene. The store remains open.
