An affordable wellbeing course is being launched in Newport this September to help Island women in midlife focus on their health without adding to financial pressures.
Healthy Habits Coach, Rachel Richards, is introducing the 6-week ‘Five Healthy Habits’ programme, which runs on Monday evenings from 19:30 to 20:30. The small-group sessions – capped at 10 participants – will cover practical strategies around movement, nutrition, mindset and routine, all in a supportive and non-judgemental environment.
Rachel says the cost-of-living crisis should not mean women have to put their health last.
“This course is about empowering women to feel better, not perfect, through small practical changes that fit their lives. It’s a community-led, supportive approach that helps women regain energy, strength and routine without pressure or guilt.”
The sessions, which are subsidised to just £42 for the full course, include supportive resources, takeaway tools and the opportunity to connect with others going through similar life changes.
In addition to the new programme, Rachel also offers:
-
Wellbeing Walks at Calbourne Water Mill (with cream tea to finish)
-
Weekly bodyweight fitness classes in Cowes
-
One-to-one and small group Healthy Habits coaching
Women can register their interest now at wightways.co.uk/five-healthy-habits or follow WightWays on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

How about make it free.People with not a lot of money will think £42 is a lot. A cream tea is not £42. Value for money, I think not.
I think it is questionable why women are made to feel guilty for having a life of their own in the first place? The very idea we need courses to highlight this is appalling. Everyone is a person who deserves the right to speak and choose what they want and need to function properly. It should not be a privilege awarded by others or stolen guiltily because others don’t think we deserve it.
if you work hard, and give your life and time to others it is only fair you get time and respect back in return without resentment or reservation.
