An Isle of Wight holiday park is looking to sell alcohol later, play live music longer and stay open until the early hours.
Parkdean Resorts has applied to the Isle of Wight Council to vary its premises licence for Landguard Holiday Park in Shanklin.
If approved, it could mean alcohol bought at the site could be consumed off the premises, 7 days a week from 10:00 to midnight. At the moment, alcohol can only be sold if consumed on-site.
In its application, the national holiday park operator — which has 4 sites on the Island — is also looking to amend how early alcohol can be sold. It also wants to bring forward the time plays, dance performances and live music indoors can start, from 10:00 to midnight, 7 days a week.
It is also asking that the holiday park can stay open half an hour later every day — opening to the public from 10:00 to 00:30 the following day.
Parkdean is also proposing the late night refreshment offer be extended, to 23:00 to midnight, Monday to Sunday.
No reasoning on the application form is given for the proposed changes. It is hoped the change can be made as soon as possible.

Who can afford it? The VERY SAME people ‘pleading poverty’ yet getting thousands in tax credits for working AT best 16 hrs per week, and paying little or no rent or c.tax and getting extra help with heating, food, free dental care free prescriptions etc because ‘they’ are ‘deemed to be ‘living in poverty’.
Thats who. Total scroungers most of them, and OUR taxes will pay for the extra alcohol they consume and we will clean up their vomit, and trail of destruction and fund their clones from cradle to all too distant grave..
Sounds good to me, but I think they should be able to keep serving until about 2 or 3. I’m only just getting started by midnight!
And to hell with the residents who live near to Languards huh? They have to go to work so they need to sleep, but hey, let them party longer so they spend more money in the bar! Disgusting. I hope it’s not given

Or just stop moaning completely and accept a live and let live philosophy. People are not all the same. Many don’t want to sit at home waiting for the cold embrace of death, but instead they want to have some fun. Try it, you might like it. Apart from the vomiting part. Give that a miss.
