Shanklin & Godshill recorded a 5-wicket victory over Folland at Westhill on Saturday (4th June).
Shanklin chose to field on winning the toss. Folland scored a satisfactory total of 225, losing their final wicket in the last over.
Ben White dismissed the Folland openers cheaply with Perys Larcombe caught and bowled for 2 and Owen Booth clean bowled for 4. Matt Lamboune then removed the stumps of Zeb Baig for 17 before dismissing captain Joe Batchelor for 49.
Mosiah Thomas put up the greatest resistance for the Folland side before being clean bowled by Harry Moore for 58. The Folland innings ended with 2 run outs: Ollie Niemiec hitting the stumps of Asgar Khan and Harry Moore knocking off the bails of Akmal Taheer.
A fluent 49 from opener Callum Wright gave Shanklin a perfect start in their run chase. However, Bryan Eaton took 5-51 to reduce the home side to 88-5. This brought together captain Ben White and Harry Moore, who shared a match winning unbroken partnership of 138 to see Shanklin to victory with 5 overs to spare. Ben White finished an entertaining game with 72 not out and Harry Moore 48 not out.

In Hampshire Division 1, winless Ryde travelled to Dorset to face Winton.
Winton won the toss and elected to bat, reaching a total of 223 all out off 50 overs. Tom Morgan was the pick of the Ventnor bowlers with figures of 3-49, with Julion Jayerajah and Sam Rockley both picking up a brace of wickets.
Ryde could only manage 126 runs in reply before being bowled out in the 41st over. Andy May top scored for Ryde with a knock of 34 runs.

Ryde’s defeat leaves them bottom of Division 1 with 36 points from 5 games.
In Hampshire Division 4 (South), Ventnor 2nds faced Portsmouth 3rds at Steephill.
After being put into field, Portsmouth reached a total of 141 in 40 overs. Mark Fletcher was the pick of the Ventnor bowlers with figures of 3-12. Charlie Turpin, Jack Powell, and Toby Noyes all picked up a brace of wickets apiece for the Island side.
Ventnor took just 20 overs to surpass the Portsmouth total. Sam Guerin top scored with an unbeaten 106 with fellow opener Mark Fletcher chipping in with a knock of 25.

Ventnor’s win leaves them in 2nd place in Hampshire Division 4 (South) with 106 points from 5 games, 7 points behind leaders Bedhampton Mariners.
Also in Division 4 (South), Ryde 2nds took on Hythe & Dibden 2nds at Harding Shute.
Ryde won the toss and elected to field. Ryde restricted Hythe & Dibden to 142 runs in their 45 overs. Ben Gregory was the pick of the Ryde bowlers with figures of 3-16. James Williams also picked up 3 wickets for 43 runs.
Ryde took 29 overs to surpass the Hythe & Dibden total. Opener Mark Oatley top scored for Ryde with a knock of 57 not out.
