Seaview Pizza Kitchen has been handed a 1-star food hygiene rating following an inspection carried out in April. The pizzeria at Watsons Grocery Store in the High Street was visited by the Isle of Wight Council’s Environmental Health team towards the end of April. Inspectors found that the business did not have a suitable system in place based on the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points principles, failing to identify hazards and put in place procedures to control potential problems. Opening and closing checks were last carried out in the Safer Food Better Business pack in 2023. During the inspection on 27th April, a packet of cooked ham in the fridge was 4 days out of date, with most items having no date label at all – something flagged at the last inspection. Refrigerator temperatures had not been monitored in over 4 months to ensure they were operating correctly. According to the official report, no materials for hygienic drying of hands were in place at the wash basin in the food preparation area. Some concerns were also raised about allergen information, specifically around the Napoli pizza – said to be a new pizza yet to be added to the allergen sheet at the time of the inspection. Food Hygiene Rating – Scores on the doors Compliance with food hygiene and safety procedures – 10 Compliance with structural requirements – 0 Confidence in management/control procedures – 20 Total score: 30 (1 rating)

Should be shut down immediately
There needs to be harsher consequences – 0,1 or 2 should require closure until it attains 3 or more on re-inspection , which should carry a £500 fee to drive the message home. Poor hygiene can have serious consequences for victims and can be fatal or life changing – Guillain Barré syndrome is one rare consequence of undercooked poultry and is very serious.
The farcical situation is still that premises are not obliged to display the hygiene ratings on the premises , it is optional !!! Needs a change of regulations, the notice can be binned. In N.I. & Wales display is compulsory, not in England and Scotland. Don’t eat where there is no notice displayed.
There really is no excuse for this
Unless these filthy establishments are closed down, people are at risk.
Tourists will have no idea if an eaterie is a Filth Hole.
All Businesesses should be FORCED to display their scores or be fined heavily
There are to many unhygienic food outlets and restaurants on the island, most need inspecting and closing for good if below 2.
No excuses shut for good, they don’t care about your health or mine.
All they care about is taking our money, for poor food and service.
the food isnt the problem its the paperwork thats bringing it all down its safe ive been there
What planet you from twat ? , a packet of cooked ham in the fridge was 4 days out of date, with most items having no date label at all – something flagged at the last inspection.
Close it down, dirty filthy place .
It’s not safe, food is out of date, fridges are not checked’ other foodstuff has no date on it, and
inadequate hand washing. It all adds up to (could not care less) attitude.
This is just what the inspectors found, goodness knows what else there is on a day to day basis
with there attitude. Boycott the place, they will soon clean up their act then.
You dirty bugger! Its people like you they are laughing at when they take your cash!
Don’t be playing into their disrespectful hands. Go elsewhere please??
I’ve worked in this area for continuous weeks and I’ve seen the staff pouring dirty kitchen waste water down the drain that is situated directly outside, even joking to keep a look out on some occasions. Kitchen equipment being used to pour waste kitchen water out on a road with road water then splashing up and on to aprons etc is not OK. This place is not practicing safe handling of food and waste. Flaunting rules and not adhering to health and hygiene. Shut them down.
The rules are rubbish, unless the Council closes such places down
what is achieved?
A motorist parking without a ticket in a carpark would be
Fined, yet these cowboys get off Scot free.
So many Holidaymakers will visit this cafe and be at risk
of falling ill, they would never believe such an establishment
would be in Seaview that offers such a POOR service.
Yes I can back that.i have seen this with my own eyes.
Where not to eat, so many filthy dirty B’stards
running dirty filthy establishments.
Running out of clean places to eat.
First the yacht club now this malarky!! Oh dear, Seaview has dropped down in the last few months hasn’t it?!
Not so ‘up your own xxxxx’ now aye 😉 ha!!
All the wealth in Seaview, yet all the filth being dished up
to the wealthy
No wonder Sausage Bob only attends barbeques at Seaview and
does not eat at such sh*t holes!.
