FOUND: Police are searching for an elderly male with Alzheimer’s who has gone missing whilst on holiday in Sandown this evening (Thursday).
Officers are conducting door to door enquiries in the area following the disappearance of the man from the Channel View Hotel on Royal Street. It is understood he has been staying at the hotel whilst on holiday.
The man is described as having grey hair and wearing green shorts. No details have yet been released by Police.
WightSAR, the Island’s volunteer lowland search and rescue team, have been placed on standby as of 18:44.
UPDATE @ 19:25 – The missing gentleman has been found safe and well.
The search has been stood down.
