UPDATED: Police are appealing for information after a seagull was shot with a crossbow in Newport earlier today (Tuesday).
The incident is said to have taken place before 09:30 this morning on Worsley Road off Hunnyhill. A local resident found the injured animal at the end of their driveway.
Island Echo understands that the bird has had the arrow removed from its wing and is currently being cared for by Wild Bird Aid.
One resident has said:
“It’s very worrying as this area has a high population of wildlife”.
